Novruz Celebration 2027

Every March we celebrate Novruz, the Azerbaijani New Year and the arrival of spring, and this year’s evening was our biggest yet.

Guests were welcomed with samani, the sprouted wheat that is a symbol of the festival, and tables of shekerbura and pakhlava. There was live music, a short talk on Novruz traditions for anyone new to them, and a good deal of dancing later in the evening.

It is always one of our favourite nights of the year, and a lovely way for Irish members to experience a little of Azerbaijani culture. See you next March.
