What we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how you stay in control.

This page explains what personal information the Ireland Azerbaijan Business Association (IABA) collects through this website, why we collect it and what we do with it. We’ve kept it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, just ask us.

Who we are

This website is run by the Ireland Azerbaijan Business Association, 25 Plaza, Shamsi Rahimov, Baku, Azerbaijan. You can reach us at info@ireland.az or on +994 50 550 32 28.

What we collect and why

When you send us a message. Our contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and, if you like, your phone number and organisation. We use these only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Your message is saved securely on our website and emailed to our team.

When you sign up to our newsletter. We ask only for your email address, and we use it only to send you our monthly newsletter. Every issue has a link to unsubscribe, or you can simply ask us to take you off the list.

When you visit the site. Like almost every website, ours is hosted on a server that keeps short technical logs, such as your device’s internet address and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. We don’t use analytics or advertising tools, and we don’t build profiles of visitors.

Why we’re allowed to use it

We use your details because you’ve asked us to, to reply to your message or send you the newsletter, and you can change your mind at any time. We keep technical logs because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the website safe.

Who we share it with

We never sell your details or pass them on for marketing. A few trusted services help us run the website and send the newsletter, such as our web host and email provider, and they only use your details on our behalf.

To load the site’s fonts and animations quickly, your browser also fetches some files from Google Fonts and jsDelivr. Like any website, they can see your device’s internet address when it does so.

How long we keep it

We keep messages for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and delete them within two years. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Just email info@ireland.az and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can also contact a data protection authority. In Ireland that’s the Data Protection Commission, at www.dataprotection.ie.
